ABOUT PERSONAL TRAINING
Personal Training is defined as a fitness training program that joins
a Personal Trainer with a client to establish a mutual, respectful, and
beneficial partnership in order to reach a particular health and/or
fitness goal.
New research supports the benefits of hiring a qualified Personal
Trainer in order to design the most effective fitness programs! Keep

WHAT IS A PERSONAL TRAINER?
A Personal Trainer is a fitness professional
who develops and implements an
individualized exercise program to help a
client reach a particular health or fitness goal.
Abundant Life trainers do not train with our
clients every time they exercise. Instead,
each client's fitness level is carefully
assessed, then a comprehensive,
personalized fitness program is designed
based upon the client's individual lifestyle,
needs, and goals. What is unique about our
programs is that they are affordably
designed for clients to use independently,
whether at home, at the gym, or while
traveling!
At Abundant Life Health & Fitness, your goals
are our goals. We are 100% committed to
helping you take the necessary steps to
making those goals a reality!

Responsibilities of Your Abundant Life Trainer:
An Abundant Life Personal Trainer is:
- An Efficient Communicator
- A Motivator
- Knowledgeable
- Professional: punctual, organized, educated, and experienced
- Well-Groomed
- A Positive Role Model
It is the Personal Trainer's responsibility to follow the most current and up-to-date
industry guidelines in the assessment of physical fitness and the planning and
implementation of exercise programming. Each Trainer will prescribe a safe, specific
fitness program especially designed for each client, while counseling and educating
the client on important health and fitness topics. The Trainer will also closely track
the progress of each client and provide follow-up services on a regular basis. If for
some reason the Personal Trainer encounters a situation that is out of his or her
realm of expertise, the Trainer will refer the client to the appropriate professional or
service.

What Your Personal Trainer Will Not Do:
- Give medical advice
- Dismiss your questions or concerns
- Rush through appointments or workout sessions
- Recommend fad diets
- Recommend questionable supplements, ergogenic aids, or herbs
- Recommend a "quick fix" program
- Push you to the point of pain
- Skip comprehensive fitness programs
The Client's Responsibilities
Each client also has responsibilities, as Personal Training is a partnership between
both the Trainer and the client. It is the client's responsibility to:
- Be prepared to provide the Personal Trainer with specific goals
- Follow the exercise program exactly as designed by your Personal Trainer, to
help ensure a successful program
- Ask lots of questions about any areas of concern or uncertainty
- Immediately address problems with the Personal Trainer
- Write down any questions you have between sessions
- Communicate likes and dislikes regarding exercise preferences
- Communicate to your Personal Trainer any feelings of pain. A little discomfort is
good, but pain is not!
- Wear comfortable clothing during the workout session. Your Trainer can give
you some guidance if you are unsure of what to wear.
- Bring a towel and water to the personal training session
- Give proper notice if the need should arise to cancel a session (see our Policies
on cancellations)
- Avoid placing unrealistic expectations on the Personal Trainer... the client is the
one who has to do most of the work, not the trainer!
When everyone does their part in a Personal Training partnership, the personal
training sessions will be more productive, rewarding, and enjoyable! Your success is
our success!
